Memories of Dad - Series Introduction

Running Time:  3:52

Movie Notes…

A Tribute to My Dad

My dad was like many others, I suppose.

Not anyone famous whose name everyone knows.

Not a leader of many; he didn’t have billions.

Drove an old pick-up truck. Wasn’t loved by millions.

But he would have been if millions had known him.

It’s been more than 20 years since my dad passed, but I am constantly reminded of the impact he had on my life. Comments he would make about any number of subjects — marriage, adversity, politics, religion, success, failure, happiness — still resonate so clearly with me today.

People of great wealth erect buildings and monuments to honor the life of their dads. This 10-episode miniseries is how I can honor mine. And while life has certainly changed since my dad’s day, some things haven’t changed much at all. Many of life’s lessons are still hard learned. But if you had a dad like mine, navigating the ups and downs is s-o-o much easier. I can’t thank him enough for that.

Although these movies will mostly be enjoyed by those who knew my dad, it is my hope that some of his nuggets of wisdom will be gleaned by folks who never had the pleasure to meet him.
